This year’s free and family-friendly Norwalk’s Earth Day Festival (NEDF) will be bigger and better than ever! There will be activities and entertainment for all ages, including live music by the CUkes and guitarist Ian Biggs, a dance performance by the Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet, Food Trucks, a ‘Picnic Grove’ with cozy blankets and seating, Guest Speakers, Tree Plantings on the Green, Yoga, Bike Repair Station, Sound Healing, and other various healing arts along with a wide variety of exhibitors including students from across our Norwalk Public schools—and there’s so much for kids to enjoy too, including Touch-A-Truck and Giant Jenga on the Green!
Our theme is finding balance and harmony in each of the five elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire/Energy, and Spirit. Throughout the day, exhibitors and scheduled speakers will highlight the small steps we can take that make big impacts in healing the Earth and ourselves (and save us money in the process, too)!
Norwalk’s Earth Day Festival is a community-led event drawing support across Norwalk’s leading environmental groups, civic organizations, municipal agencies, local schools, legislative leaders, and our Mayor. Festival-goers will enjoy learning more about the steps Norwalk is taking to protect the environment and our green spaces by increasing walkability, improving sidewalks, adding bike parking, expanding public transportation, providing clean air protection, water safety, and sustainability, and promoting beautification (tree plantings).
This initiative encourages residents to walk, ride bikes, and take public transit instead of using personal vehicles. We will also debut our very first event with FREE Bike Valet Parking!
Bring your friends and family along for an adventure, all guided walks and rides start at 10:30am and will lead you to the Norwalk Green arriving just in time for a spectacular noontime celebration of festivities, food, music and family-friendly fun!
Choose your adventure, all paths will lead you to the Norwalk Green:

🚌 The Norwalk Transit District and Wheels2U provide bus routes and stops within a 5-minute walk (or less) to the Norwalk Town Green. Visit the norwalktransit.com to see the schedule and ticketing information to plan your trip using this green transportation option.
🚊 Metro-North Railroad is a convenient, low-stress, and low-cost way to get to travel. From the East Norwalk Station, it’s one mile to the Green. Norwalk Transit District also has a bus route that takes passengers to stops at or close to the Green.
🚗 If you plan to drive this year, plan your greener travel by taking advantage of the CTrides App, transitisatrip.com. This tool assists you in finding the most efficient and sustainable routes to the event whether it's by train, bus, microtransit, scooter, carpool, or vanpool.
By choosing one of the many environmentally friendly transportation options mentioned above, you can contribute to the spirit of Earth Day as you make your way to the Norwalk Town Green. The Norwalk Bike/Walk Commission will have a table by the Bike Valet Parking (in front of St. Paul's Church) with volunteers to help safely stow your bikes.
